Before you book your exam, here are the critical details you need to know about the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) administered by the PTCB.

Eligibility Requirement: To apply, you must have a High School Diploma (or GED) AND complete a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program OR have 500 hours of equivalent work experience.
Retake Policy
If you do not pass the PTCE on your first attempt, don't panic. You can retake the exam, but strict rules apply:
- Waiting Period: You must wait 60 days from your last attempt before you can apply again.
- Attempts Limit: You are allowed a maximum of 4 attempts.
- Fees: You must pay the $129 exam fee for every attempt.
- After 4 Failures: If you fail 4 times, you must petition the PTCB for permission to take it again and provide evidence of remediation/study.
