Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BPS)

What is the BCACP? The BCACP credential demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in ambulatory care, chronic disease management, direct patient care, and medication optimization. It is administered by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS).

2. Eligibility Requirements

To sit for the exam, you must have a current, unrestricted pharmacist license and meet ONE of the following pathways:

Pathway A (Residency)

  • ACPE-accredited PharmD
  • PGY1 Residency (ASHP-accredited)
  • Note: If PGY1 was not ambulatory-focused, additional experience may be required.

Pathway B (Experience)

  • PharmD or BPharm degree
  • 4 Years of practice experience with at least 50% of time spent in ambulatory care activities (direct patient care).
