About IIIM
Established in 1941, the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) was initially known as the Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State. It was later taken over by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of the Government of India in December 1957. Renamed IIIM in 2005, the institute specializes in natural products-based drug discovery.
Project Details
The position is available under the DST & DoP sponsored project titled “Centre for Marine Therapeutics (CMT)” at CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.
Essential Qualification
- M.Sc/M.Pharm in Organic Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Natural Products Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Biochemistry from a recognized University or equivalent
- 4 years of experience in Research & Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science & Technology Organizations, or
- PhD in Chemical Sciences/Natural Products Chemistry/Phytochemistry/Organic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Biochemistry from a recognized University or equivalent
Desirable
- Experience in extraction, isolation, and characterization of secondary metabolites from natural sources
- Proficiency in modern analytical and spectroscopic techniques
- Knowledge of phyto-pharmaceutical drug discovery
- Ability to review relevant literature and compile detailed reports
- Upper Age Limit: 40 years
- Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 42,000/- plus HRA

- The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, initially for one year, extendable based on performance review and project duration.
