Position: Facility Assistant

Job Profile

  • Maintenance of Drosophila stocks
  • Molecular and phenotype-based screening of mutant and transgenic Drosophila stocks
  • Generation of transgenic flies
  • Fly husbandry and genetics

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Life Sciences
  • Basic knowledge of Drosophila Genetics required
  • Exposure or experience with Drosophila melanogaster as a model system is preferable but not mandatory
  • Preferable experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, electrophoresis, etc.)
  • Well-organized individual with excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
  • Good analytical skills, willingness to work independently and in a team
