  • Clinical Judgment (80 percent): Advanced assessment and management of cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, hematology, GI, renal, integumentary, neurologic, multisystem and psychosocial issues in critically ill adults.
  • Cardiovascular: Ischemia, cardiogenic shock, dysrhythmias, hemodynamics, tamponade, aortic syndromes and device support.
  • Respiratory: Ventilator modes, ARDS lung protective ventilation, acute respiratory failure, COPD and asthma, pulmonary embolus and pleural emergencies.
  • Endocrine, Heme, GI, Renal, Integumentary: DKA, HHS, thyroid and adrenal crisis, DIC, HIT, GI bleed, pancreatitis, AKI, CRRT, electrolyte derangements and burns.
  • Neurology and Multisystem: Stroke, traumatic brain injury, seizures, delirium, sepsis, septic shock, MODS, trauma, hypothermia and toxicologic crises.
  • Professional Caring and Ethical Practice (20 percent): Advocacy, ethics, diversity, communication, collaboration, leadership, clinical inquiry and systems thinking in the ICU.
